February vacation is finally upon us and the temperatures are cold. The biggest concern this time of year is what do with the kids so they don’t go stir crazy in the house and drive us crazy in the process.

The movies are always an option along with “play dates”. However, those tend to get old. If you’re looking for something else to do, check out the list below with 70 things to do during February vacation. Some of these may repeat because they are available daily while others are day specific. Plenty of activities to choose from!

CluedUpp Boston - Sneaky Finders - MusefulMom.com

Do you think you have what it takes to catch a killer?

CluedUpp is a British detective game that’s just like a huge outdoor version of the board game, Clue – and it’s coming to Boston, MA on March 16, 2019.

The CluedUpp Boston version is called “Sneaky Finders” and is set in a fictitious town called Millingham. Your team of detectives will have to crack the case while walking through the streets, tracking down virtual witnesses, and eliminating suspects.

The Sneaky Finders adventure will take place in the North End, Boston, on March 16, 2019. The event will start time between 10am and 1pm and will finish before 5pm. It can last anywhere between 1 and 4 hours however the average team of detectives takes around 2 hours 20 minutes to solve the crime. Ticket cost is $46 per team which is at least 2 but up to 6 players. Make sure to come up with an awesome team name. Dressing up is optional but can be lots of fun (awesome Sneaky Finders/1920’s inspired fancy dress). You will also need access to smartphone (Android or IPhone).

At the end they give out some prizes. Below are the prize categories:

  1. Fastest team
  2. Best fancy dress (Sneaky Finders / 1920’s inspired)
  3. Best team picture
  4. Best team name
  5. Best little detective (kids prize)
  6. Best K-9 detective (dogs prize)

CluedUpp murder-mysteries unfold virtually, via an award-winning app and the game is entirely self-guided. Over 100 detective teams are expected to take part on the day. I bought my ticket for a team for this event. Can’t wait to play! Stayed tuned as I will definitely be writing a full review afterwards.

If you don’t live in the Boston area, no worries. Check out the list of USA events and UK & European events.

Think you have what it takes to solve a homicide in your hometown? Grab a ticket to CluedUpp Boston today and find out!

Disney Frozen 2 - Releases November 22

Walt Disney Animation Studios has surprisingly released the first official teaser trailer for this November’s Frozen 2the feature length sequel to the 2013 Oscar winner and box-office smash hit, Frozen .

The new footage features a dramatic sequence in which Elsa uses her powers to run, climb, and slide across water, freezing and scaling a wave. There are also flashes of her sister, Anna, and fellow returning characters Kristoff and Olaf looking out from a cliff at a fall like view of a forest.

Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel return to voice Anna and Elsa, alongside Josh Gad as Olaf and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff. It also seems that the vocal cast will include This Is Us’s Sterling K. Brown and Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood.

Check out the new teaser trailer from Disney’s Frozen 2. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen 2 opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.

Back in January, the reunited cast of the original Frozen had already started teasing the film on Twitter and Instagram. Check out one of the posts and a new poster below.

Project “Do Something” Boston is just what is says, doing something.  If you’re tired of seeing the homeless in our community suffering, this grass roots effort was created to provide some aid and comfort.  Project “Do Something” is not affiliated with any organization nor any other initiative.  It is just a group of concerned citizens banding together with a common cause to help those less fortunate.

No one imagines life being homeless. No human on earth should suffer in this way, particularly during the cold winter season. This is where Project “Do Something” steps in.  Firmly aware of the afflictions leading to chronic homelessness (addiction, mental illness, etc.), Project “Do Something” brings compassion and aid to those often overlooked.  They go to the streets not just to hand out donations, but to give people tools to survive both physically and emotionally. Instead of handing out money, they hand out gloves, blankets, and protein snacks.  Instead of volunteering at a shelter, they ask questions about why some choose to stay in the cold.  Instead of focusing on the quantity of donations given, they listen to those often overlooked by most of society.  They may not find the solution to chronic homelessness, but they will understand its causes.  They may not convince the addict to quit, but they hope to inspire the addict not to quit on himself.

I was first introduced to Project “Do Something” through a parent at my daughter’s school. Every month she requests donations of food and beverages. And every month we give our donations and she with the help of some volunteers go to the meeting spot and help distribute everything to roughly around 75 people. This month I signed up for water donations. Last night I ran out to BJ’s to grab a couple of large cases of water.  My 11 year old daughter asked what it was for so I proceeded to explain and heard myself saying that it’s not much. Not much I thought? But you know what, it’s something. It may seem like not much to me, but it’s something for someone else. And that is what I feel Project “Do Something” is all about. It’s a whole community of people that are doing their version of “not much”, which turns into a big something.

If you’re interested in truly helping the homeless people then check out the ways you can help.

  1. Project “Do Something” has signups for food distribution events for every Tuesday. Check out the Sign Up here.
  2. They also have a Wishlist of items that are needed year round if you want to do a non-food donation:
    • $5 – $10 Gift Cards to Dunkin Donuts and McDonald’s
    • New Socks and Men’s Underwear
    • Hoodies
    • Sweatpants
    • T-Shirts
    • Sleeping Bags
    • Gently worn Sneakers
    • Backpacks
    • Consider wholesale sites such as northpines.org and rgriley.com
  3. They even have a Project Do Something Amazon Wishlist where you can just buy the items on the list and they are delivered right to them.
  4. And last but certainly not least, you can always just donate money via Venmo (@ProjectDoSomething-Boston) or PayPal (dosomething@pdsboston.org). They will use the money to purchase any necessities or gift cards to be distributed to the homeless.

So let’s help them out and “Do Something”!

Lady Gaga Delivers Powerful Message During Speech At 2019 Grammy Awards! - www.musefulmom.com

Lady Gaga won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (February 10). During her acceptance speech, she took the opportunity to speak about mental health and the importance of reaching out for help.

“I’m so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They’re so important. And a lot of artists deal with that, and we gotta to take care of each other. So if you see somebody that’s hurting don’t look away. And if you’re hurting, even though it might be hard, try to find that bravery within yourself to dive deep and go tell somebody and take them up in your head with you.”
